A Correction and Re - Examination of “ Stationary Concepts for Experimental 2 × 2 Games ”

چکیده
Reinhard Selten and Thorsten Chmura (2008) recently reported laboratory results for completely mixed 2 × 2 games used to compare Nash equilibrium with four other stationary concepts: quantal response equilibrium, action-sampling equilibrium, payoff-sampling equilibrium, and impulse balance equilibrium. We reanalyze their data, correct some errors, and find that Nash clearly fits worst while the four other concepts perform about equally well. We also report new analysis of other previous experiments that illustrate the importance of the loss aversion hardwired into impulse balance equilibrium: when the other non-Nash concepts are augmented with loss aversion, they outperform impulse balance equilibrium.

متن کاملCooperative Benefit and Cost Games under Fairness Concerns
Solution concepts in cooperative games are based on either cost games or benefit games. Although cost games and benefit games are strategically equivalent, that is not the case in general for solution concepts. Motivated by this important observation, a new property called invariance property with respect to benefit/cost allocation is introduced in this paper. Since such a property can be regar...
متن کاملLearning in Networks - An Experimental Study Using Stationary Concepts
Our study analyzes theories of learning for strategic interactions in networks. Participants played two of the 2 x 2 games used by Selten and Chmura (2008) and in the comment by Brunner, Camerer and Goeree (2009). Every participant played against four neighbors and could choose a different strategy against each of them. The games were played in two network structures: a lattice a...
متن کاملStudy of Educational Plays Effect on Learning Concepts of Knowing and Comparing Number Mathematics in First-grade Girl Students of Shahr-e Ray
Mathematics curriculum in schools is always a key position and is considered as an essential knowledge. So it is taught in the first years of school curriculum. This knowledge has focused on calculating the initial period. So this part of mathematics play an important role in Lives of all people so this knowledge is essential for learning today. In the early years of primary school children, th...
متن کاملDigital games in medical education:Key terms, concepts, and definitions
Background: Game-based education is fast becoming a key instrument in medical education. Method: In this study, papers related to games were filtered and limited to full-text peer-reviewed published in English. Results: To the best of researchers’ knowledge, the concepts used in the literature are varied and distinct, and the literature is not conclusive on the definition of educational...
